About this work

This painting is mostly dark brown with bold red lines crisscrossing the whole surface. The lines look jagged and uneven, like they were drawn quickly. Some areas have clusters of lines, while others are sparse. The red paint is thick in spots, almost like it was scraped on. The background is rough, too, with visible texture under the paint. Check out how the artist used pastel in this piece.
