Up is a 2012 by Goutefangea, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This print shows a white square on a black background. Inside, there’s a round shape filled with straight blue lines that look like grid rows. Red lines radiate out from the center, curving and twisting as they spread toward the edges. The colors are flat—no shading, just crisp blue and red against the white. The lines create a sense of movement, almost like a burst or explosion. The red curves feel dynamic, while the blue grid stays rigid. It’s simple but oddly busy. Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum to see this print in person.
A 2012 screenprint by Goutefangea titled Up presents a gridded composition centered on a nucleus rendered in red and blue tones against a white background; the same motif and palette appear on the accompanying box lid and the print is signed, titled, and numbered on the reverse.
