Untitled is a 1901 ink by Lovis Corinth, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This sketch shows a man’s face and shoulders in quick, sketchy lines. His mustache and hair are thick, and he wears a high collar with a star or pin on it. The drawing is light, almost like it was done fast with pencil or charcoal. The name "von Bülow" is scrawled at the top, but we don’t know if that’s who this is. The artist signed it in the corner, but the date is unclear. If you like this style, check out lithography to see how it works.
Lovis Corinth was a German artist and writer whose mature work as a painter and printmaker realized a synthesis of impressionism and expressionism.
