This print shows a jumbled cityscape with houses stacked at odd angles. Rooftops tilt like broken stairs, and a ladder leans against one building. People walk along narrow streets, while a chimney and open windows add detail. The whole scene feels tilted, almost like the buildings are sliding. The artist used sharp black lines against white space to create this effect. It’s made from woodcut, a method where artists carve into wood and print the image. Next, check out the technique: woodcut.
