Untitled is a 1957 tempera by Miguel Ocampo, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This painting shows two sets of circles on a dark, textured background. The top circles are green, fading from bright at the center to pale at the edges. The bottom circles are red, with a black outline inside. Both sets have a faint orange ring around them. The colors pop against the rough, almost grainy surface. The artist used tempera, a paint made from pigment mixed with a water-soluble binder. Look up tempera to see how it works.
Miguel Saturnino Ocampo Leloir (1922—2015), was an Argentine painter, sculptor, writer, architect, and diplomat.
