About this work

This painting shows a big face inside a round mirror. Above the mirror are three hats. Below it is a dark shape that looks like a couch or chair. The colors are simple: a red stripe, a brown stripe, and white space. The face is flat and blank, like a cutout. The hats above look like they’re floating. The whole thing feels stiff and mechanical.
