Tissue of the buttocks is a 1970 unspecified by J Tinkelenberg, depicting Anatomy, held at Leiden University Libraries.
This watercolor shows a close-up of buttocks in soft red wash. The artist used grey brush strokes to outline the shape, then layered red watercolor to fill it in. You can see where the brush dried in spots, making the skin look uneven. This wasn’t meant for art shows. The artist studied anatomy, probably for medical training. The loose style keeps it from feeling clinical, but the focus stays sharp. The red wash in this work is similar to ink wash paintings. Look up *ink wash paintings* to see how artists use wet brushes for soft edges.
This artist carved and painted the hidden systems we carry inside. Their sculptures trace the bend and flow of joints and veins in delicate wire or clay, while watercolors map the first threads of life in an embryo.…
