This print shows choppy waves with bold, scratchy lines. The marks aren’t neat or perfect—they look alive, like the water is moving under your eyes. Aspasia cut the metal plate herself, then inked it by hand. That scratchy style isn’t random. It’s called drypoint, where the artist scratches straight into the plate with a needle. The deeper the scratch, the darker the line on the paper. See for yourself at the Museum of Ethnography.
