Artist
Alfred Charles Bailey
Alfred Charles Bailey is an Impressionism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Alfred Charles Bailey carried a watercolour set like a passport. In 1917 he painted General Allenby walking through Jaffa Gate, not with pomp but with a single white horse and a tilted flag, Jerusalem felt more like a town than a city that day. If you’ve ever stood under an archway and noticed how light lands on stone, Bailey noticed that way too; his brush lets the walls tell the story instead of the generals.
