Friedrich Kaulbach

Friedrich Kaulbach was a German painter born in the Principality of Waldeck in 1822 and active until his death in 1903. He worked as an artist and served as a university teacher. His artistic training took place under the guidance of Wilhelm von Kaulbach. Later in life, he became the parent of the artist Friedrich August von Kaulbach. These documented roles and relationships define his presence within the history of German art, linking him to a prominent family of painters while establishing his own career as an educator and practitioner.
