John Pringle kept a tiny studio above a Glasgow teashop, painting on his lunch break between sips of tea. His watercolors capture the damp Scottish light like nobody else, especially the way it pools in the burns near Milngavie. You’ll recognize his style in those green-grey hills rolling right up to the paper’s edge, no sky, just water and grass and the quiet insistence of rain.
