louise dahl-wolfe

louise dahl-wolfe is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Louise Dahl-Wolfe carried a twin-lens Rolleiflex in her bag like a house key and shot rolls of film between errands. She made women look like they’d stepped off a ship in Mobile and paused to stretch in the Alabama sun. Her 1938 photograph Girl with Camera Lying on Grass shows a girl’s skirt ballooning around her, camera lens glinting, proof that a quiet backyard can hold the romance of travel.
