Elvezia Paini

Elvezia Paini is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at George Enescu National Museum.

Elvezia Paini never left Bucharest, though her prints traveled farther than she did. She spent years tracing the delicate lace collars and embroidered cuffs of 18th-century boyar women, lifting each silver thread into ink so fine it looks like it might fray if you touch the paper. The result is a room of faces where every ruffle tells a story.

Start with Potretul Prințesei Ecaterina Cantacuzino, her pearls catch the light like they’re still damp from the river, and the lace on her cuffs could keep you busy for an hour.
