This 19th-century printmaker carved scenes of daily life in the streets around today’s Hamburg port. In H Beard Print Collection (15th August 1894), he zoomed in on the rigging, barrels, and gulls of a working harbor, turning the day’s trade into a crisp black-and-white snapshot.
