Léopold Desbrosses

Léopold Desbrosses was a French painter and engraver who lived from 1821 to 1908. His artistic formation included study under the renowned landscape painter Jean Baptiste Camille Corot, as well as instruction from the history painter Paul Delaroche. These mentors guided his development within the French art tradition of the nineteenth century. Desbrosses practiced both painting and engraving throughout his career, contributing to the visual culture of his time through these two distinct yet complementary disciplines.
