Marcus Grønvold

Marcus Grønvold was a Norwegian painter who lived from 1845 to 1929. he is recognized primarily as a landscape painter within the Norwegian tradition. his artistic formation included formal study under the artist Hans Gude, a key figure in Norwegian landscape painting. he also studied under Karl von Piloty, an influential German history painter. these educational experiences shaped his approach to his craft during his lifetime. his work remains a part of the documented history of Norwegian art from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
