A. Stolypin carried a small watercolor set everywhere, sketching seaside towns the way others might jot down grocery lists. He never left home without it, not even on that trip to Dubrovnik, where he captured Ragusa’s crumbling orange walls at sunset, or in Split, where he lingered on the harbor’s salt-stained stone. His colors stayed bright and precise, like postcards you’d send to prove you were there.
