Day & Son Vincent Brooks

These are 19th-century printed pictures from the H Beard collection, mostly portraits and scenes that look like cartoons. The prints include a wide range of dates, from February 1879 to 1903, so you get a slice of what people hung on their walls then. Flip to Miss Eames from 1891 to see a woman in a high-necked dress; the lines are simple, the faces look quick and lively, and you can almost feel the ink still fresh.
