Artist
Constantin Păuleț
Constantin Păuleț is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Art of Romania.
Constantin Păuleț’s studio smelled like turpentine and old books, a place where oil paint and thread tangled in the same mess. He painted Sonde in 1969, a quiet rectangle of sky-blue and bone-white that still hangs in the small rooms of the former Institute of Geology. The painting looks simple until you notice the grid of pale lines, like a surveyor’s sketch, draped over the canvas. That’s Păuleț’s trick: make the invisible visible, whether with brush or loom.
