Benjamin Stone made photographs of everyday life in Britain at the turn of the 20th century. In 1901 and 1899 he sent teams across the country to shoot local customs, buildings, and events for the National Photographic Record and Survey. His pictures freeze parades, pageants, and trades in crisp black and white.
