Stephen Farthing
Stephen Farthing is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Stephen Farthing’s drawings sit between careful measurement and wobbly line, tracing how shapes bend to make a three-dimensional world lie flat. In Studies for a Globe No. 77 (2005), penciled arcs chase the curve of an imagined sphere, letting gaps show where the math stops and the hand begins. He keeps his tools simple: paper, graphite, the slow turn of a drafting compass.
If you like seeing rules tested in real time, tap the drawing itself, its numbered grid and smudged highlights tell the story better than any label ever could.
