Workshop of Zhou Peichun

Workshop of Zhou Peichun is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This handscroll from around 1900 shows a quiet riverside scene with willows and a distant bridge, painted by the Zhou Peichun Workshop. Working in the late Qing tradition, they used delicate ink lines and subtle ink washes to capture everyday moments along the water. Look for the way the calligraphic strokes of the willow branches frame the bridge, pulling the eye across the scroll. Tap “Untitled (ca. 1900, Painting)” to zoom in on the soft reflections on the river’s surface.
