Artist
Fateh Chand
Mughal Empire
Fateh Chand is a Mughal Empire Patna School of Painting artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Fateh Chand painted delicate Mughal miniatures in the mid-1700s, often recording royal portraits and court scenes with fine brushwork. His brush moved across paper the size of a playing card, filling each inch with jewel-like detail. One of his surviving works shows the Delhi palace courtyard where nobles gathered under flowering trees.
Look next at Fateh Chand’s Untitled (ca. 1750–1770) and notice how every turban fold and carpet pattern feels alive under his precise hand.
