Artist

J. Weston

J. Weston is a British Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Library of Wales.

This 19th-century painter specialized in landscapes of North Wales. In 1842 he captured Pont Gwryd, Snowdon in the distance, a quiet oil painting that shows a stone bridge over the river Gwyrfai with the mountain looming behind. His brushwork is precise, the sky a soft gradient of blue-gray, the water a muted brown.

Look for the subtle reflections and the single figure crossing the bridge. Next, tap into Snowdon itself, where the same view still stands today.
