These painters left behind one of the few named works from early 18th-century Romanian Orthodox church art. Their Deisis, from 1727, places Christ between the Virgin Mary and John the Baptist in a traditional Byzantine arrangement of saints and angels. The figures wear deep blues and crimson, outlined in gold against a burnished red ground.
