Miss Langham

Miss Langham is a Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This printmaker worked in late-18th-century London. One surviving sheet shows the city’s calendar customs, February 1st, 1790, captured in a small copperplate engraving. The print records a moment under a low sky, where frost still clings to shop signs along a narrow street.

Look closer and you’ll spot a woman in a hooded cloak hurrying past St Paul’s Churchyard. Next, tap into the same sheet and zoom in on the church spire rising above the rooftops.
