William Tasker was an American painter active in the first half of the twentieth century. He is associated with the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project, the New Deal program that employed artists across the United States during the 1930s and early 1940s. His oil painting National Defense entered the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1943 as a gift of the Pennsylvania WPA, indicating that he worked under the project in Pennsylvania.
