Mole

Mole is an Impressionism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

English watercolour painter active in the 1870s and ’80s, Mole specialized in quiet Devonshire landscapes. In 1873 he recorded the tangled greens of Hellersdon Wood in a small, precise sheet, letting dappled light filter through oaks and underbrush without a hint of drama. His surviving sheets are small, often no larger than a postcard, yet packed with the kinds of details you notice on a slow country walk: a mossy bank, a sunlit clearing, the sheen of a rain-slicked path. Tap Hellersdon Wood, Devonshire to step into its dappled shade.
