Sayer & Bennett

Sayer & Bennett is a Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

These two made prints for London readers in the late 1700s, turning daily life into sharp little sheets. One day in December 1783 they published “H Beard Print Collection,” a sheet crowded with tradesmen, shoppers, and snow-dusted streets around the Strand and Fleet Street. The prints were sold cheap, slipped into pockets and pinned on walls, becoming early social media, cheap, fast, and everywhere. Tap into the same crowded London winter with the 5th December 1783 sheet.
