Artist

John Breun

John Breun is a Baroque artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

John Breun didn’t paint grand scenes, he printed the everyday. The guy lived in 18th-century London and spent his days turning blacksmiths’ tools, tavern signs, and street criers into crisp little prints. His work is like a time-stamped Instagram feed of the city, except ink on paper.

Slide your finger over prints like The Blacksmith’s Forge and you’re standing on a cobblestone corner, listening for hammers and horses.
