About this work

This is a print by Chris Agnew from 2010, part of a special prize for new grads. Each year, eight London art schools pick one winner. Winners get a paid printmaking residency and make a small run of prints. The whole group then shows together. Agnew’s print was made at Jealous Print Studio. That year’s batch of new prints went straight to the Victoria and Albert Museum’s collection. Want to see more student prints? Look up the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The story of this work

Overview

In 2010, Chris Agnew won the Jealous Print Studio Graduate Prize, which provided an all-expenses-paid residency at the studio for an MA Fine Art graduate from Wimbledon. During the residency, Agnew created a new limited-edition print, which was later included in a group exhibition featuring winners from all eight major London art colleges. The portfolio of prints from that year was subsequently donated to the Victoria and Albert Museum's print collection.
