About this work

This painting is three big colors in a simple shape. A bright red border frames a pale rectangle in the middle. Two thin black lines slice across that rectangle like a window’s frame, but nothing’s behind them—just more blank space. The artist used a woodcut method, which means the design was carved into a block and then stamped. That’s why the lines and colors look so clean and sharp. Look up woodcut to see how this technique works.
