Untitled is a 1908 by Ernest William Tristram, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This drawing shows an old stone building with a tall arched window and a smaller arched doorway below. The walls have round carvings or carvings inside circles, some with faces or figures. The floor looks worn, with a few steps leading up to the doorway. The artist used fine lines to build up shadows and textures, making the stone look rough and the carvings detailed. This is called cross-hatching. Look up cross-hatching to see how artists create depth with just lines.
Ernest William Tristram (1882–1952) was a British art historian, artist and conservator, and Professor of Design at the Royal College of Art (1926–1948).
