Viola Gallénin muotokuva is an unspecified by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, depicting Work of Art, held at Gallen-Kallela Museum.
A woman sits in a dim room, her face lit softly by light from a window behind her. She wears a dark dress with a high collar and a dark hat, her hands resting in her lap. The wall behind her is plain, but a large, dark piece of furniture or sculpture looms to the right. Outside the window, you can just make out a glimpse of greenery and a hint of sky. Her expression is calm, almost serious, but the brushstrokes on her face and clothing are thick and textured. The artist used bold strokes to show light and shadow, making her stand out against the darker background. This painting is held at the Museum of Ethnography.
Akseli Gallen-Kallela (born Axel Waldemar Gallén; 26 April 1865 – 7 March 1931) was a Finnish painter and a leading figure of Finnish romantic nationalism around the turn of the 20th century.
