Untitled is a 1590 paint by La'l, a Mughal Painting work, depicting Battle, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting glows with soft golds and deep blues. It shows a peaceful garden scene bathed in warm light. La’l worked in the late 1500s, making art for Mughal rulers. This tiny picture once decorated a royal book of memoirs. It was cut out long ago and sold separately. If you like this, check out the Victoria and Albert Museum.
This opaque watercolor painting on paper is an illustration from a Baburnama manuscript, depicting the siege of Chanderi in January 1528, where defenders are shown killing their women as Babur’s forces breach the fort. The composition was designed by the artist La'l and executed by Durga, as noted in a contemporary inscription. The manuscript, a Persian translation of Babur’s memoirs commissioned by Akbar, was produced in the imperial Mughal atelier around 1590. It was later removed from the volume before being acquired by a museum in London in 1913.
