This drawing shows tangled metal shapes wrapped in loops and spirals. Some parts are flat circles, others twist into sharp angles. A few red lines cut through the gray and white forms, like veins or cracks. The whole thing looks heavy, like scrap metal left in a junkyard. The artist used pencil and felt-tip pen on a textured paper, which makes the lines pop. The red ink stands out against the gray shading, drawing your eye to the center. Next, check out cross-hatching to see how artists build depth with lines.
