About this work

This print shows Paris’ Pont Neuf bridge in soft browns and blacks. People cluster along the railings, some staring downriver. The river below looks almost still under a gray sky. Lepère cared about how light hits stone. He left edges fuzzy here and there to keep things feeling real.
