Untitled
photographic
From the collection of Victoria and Albert Museum
Untitled is a photographic by Edna Manley, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This photograph shows a sculpture of three women and a child. The women are standing, and the child is sitting between them. The women are all naked, and the child is wearing a necklace. The women are all looking down at the child, and they seem to be taking care of it. The sculpture is carved into a rectangular stone, and it is very detailed. If you like this photograph, you might want to check out more works by the artist, Manley, Edna.
The photograph is mounted on a green card and is part of a collection bequeathed by William Kineton Parkes in 1938. Kineton Parkes, a novelist, art historian, and librarian known for his work on sculpture, received the photograph as part of a series of responses to questionnaires he sent to sculptors in the 1920s. The photograph is one of many such images held in the Archive of Art and Design.
