About this work

This painting looks like a building made of flat, colored shapes. The left side is mostly brown with white rectangles that look like windows. The right side has blocks of pink, blue, and yellow, with more white windows. The edges are uneven, like the building was cut out of paper. The artist used painted paper cut into pieces and glued together. The colors are bold but not mixed—they stay flat and clean. Check out Ruth Root for more work like this.
