About this work

This sketch shows a single tree with long, thin branches spreading across a blank page. The lines are light and wobbly, like they were drawn quickly or by hand without much pressure. Some branches twist upward, while others droop or curve, and a few small shapes at the bottom might be leaves or shadows. The loose, sketchy style makes the tree look alive but unfinished, as if caught mid-movement. This kind of drawing was often used to study nature closely. Try looking up cross-hatching to see how artists build shadows with lines.
