Painting Eleven from Album of Paintings by Haizan is a 1892 unspecified by Yoshitsugu Haizan, a Impressionism work, depicting Meiji Period Or Taisho Period, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This painting shows a quiet landscape with a river winding through a village. Tall trees line the banks, their branches bare and twisted. Small buildings cluster along the water, and a bridge arches over the river near the bottom. The colors are mostly muted—soft grays, browns, and a touch of pale blue in the sky. The brushstrokes are loose and quick, almost sketchy, giving the scene a light, airy feel. The artist left some areas almost empty, letting the white paper show through. If you like this style, look up Impressionism.
Yoshitsugu Haizan (1846–1915) was a Japanese artist.
