Newlyn School

About

An art colony of painters who settled in the Cornish fishing village of Newlyn from the early 1880s, drawn by the light, the cheap living and the working harbour. Stanhope Forbes and Frank Bramley painted fisherfolk and village life en plein air in a sober naturalist manner.
