Archaeological Museum of Agios Nikolaos

Later periods are documented by Late Minoan finds from Milatos and Kritsa, Geometric period material from Anavlojo Vrajasio, Archaic Greek finds from ancient Olous, and Greek and Roman period objects from the ancient cities of Kamara (in the territory of modern Agios Nikolaos) and Lato.

Room 1 houses the largest display in the museum: items excavated from the Agia Fotia cemetery near Sitia, including many notable vases and several hundred bronze blades of varying shapes and degrees of sharpness recovered from graves. Fish hooks dating to early Minoan Crete are also exhibited. Among the most celebrated objects in the museum is the "Goddess of Myrtos," a vessel found at Fournou Korifi. Another significant piece is a gold diadem from the site of Mochlos. The votive figurines from the Middle Minoan mountain sanctuaries form an important specialized collection.
