Markus Pernhart (July 6, 1824, in Untermieger, died on March 30, 1871, in Klagenfurt; with his name also written: Markus or Marko Pernat or Pernath) was a Carinthian Slovenian / Austrian painter of romantic landscape impressions, considered to have been a pioneer in this style in Austria. According to the Encyclopedia of Slovenian Biography, he is considered the first Slovenian realistic landscape painter.
