Artist
Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazowsky
Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazowsky is an Impressionism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Art of Romania.
Ivan Aivazowsky painted the sea before it became a cliché. The 1886 canvas Naufragiul shows a storm-tossed hull caught between waves and dusk, hull lights flaring like dying stars. He painted storms, calm horizons, and moonlit sails over and over, turning the Black Sea into a stage for light and foam.
Swipe left to stand on that deck with him, or tap the waves in The Bay of Naples at Sunset to feel how he made seawater glow.
