George I. Cuitt

George I. Cuitt is a Rococo painting artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

George I. Cuitt put Italian sunshine on paper. In the 1760s he painted View near the Monte Mario near Rome in watercolour, recording the rolling Roman hills just west of the city. His brush caught the dusty roads, olive groves, and distant domes without the drama of later Romantic scenes. Next, try tracing the same ridge in his sketchbook by searching “Monte Mario” in the app.
