Artist
Laurence-Augustine Jubé Héquet
Laurence-Augustine Jubé Héquet is a Realism painter. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Laurence-Augustine Jubé Héquet had a habit of painting the people around her, not the famous ones but those who slipped into a room unnoticed. In a Parisian drawing room she captured Ingres as a young man, years before he became the stiff portraitist everyone remembers. In Ingres (1780–1867) as a Young Man, loose strokes keep the future artist alive rather than posed.
