Ioan Sima is an artist. 5 works are cataloged here, principally at Zalău Museum of History and Art.

Romanian painter Ioan Sima left behind a small body of work, portraits and still lifes in bright, flat colors that feel both direct and a little off-kilter. His 1930s paintings like Lelea Nișcă and Bluza roșie swap soft shadows for sharp, almost graphic outlines. The self-portrait print Autoportret keeps the same flat light, trapping the face in a single plane.

If you want to see how color behaves in his hands, tap Floarea soarelui, a sunflower that looks lit from within.
