Yongxing, known by his princely title Prince Cheng, was a Manchu prince and calligrapher of the Qing dynasty. Born in 1752, he was the eleventh son of the Qianlong Emperor and was enfeoffed as Prince Cheng of the First Rank in 1789. Rather than political power, he was distinguished by scholarly accomplishment in poetry, painting, and above all calligraphy.
He is traditionally counted among the leading calligraphers of the Qianlong and Jiaqing reigns, and his brushwork was esteemed enough that he was commissioned to write inscriptions for imperial monuments. He died in 1823.
