Artist

P. Shaken

P. Shaken is an Impressionism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

P. Shaken painted a single portrait in 1896: Sir Johnston Forbes-Robertson as Hamlet in Shakespeare’s play. The painting shows the actor mid-speech, dressed in black with a dagger in hand, caught on stage. It’s the only known work by this artist, so we can’t place them in a movement or era. Tap the portrait to see the dagger’s gleam and the play’s dark costumes up close.
